In this video I’m showing you my Sony FX3 cinema-style sports rig and why I like running it for lacrosse and other fast action when I’m chasing that clean, cinematic look. The whole point here is getting a setup that’s stable, quick to operate on the sideline, and still delivers that “Mako Sports” color and contrast—especially when you watch it back in 2160p HDR. I also note what I shot with (A7SIII paired with the Batis 85mm f/1.8 and Zeiss 55mm f/1.8), since those focal lengths and fast glass are a big part of how I get that crisp separation and punchy highlight roll-off. I talk about HDR in a practical way: make sure the quality cog actually says “HDR” and you’re viewing on a compatible device (newer phones, modern 4K TVs—OLED is money—plus newer MacBooks and iPads). When it’s set up right, you’ll see richer saturation, brighter highlights, and more contrast—basically closer to what your eyes see in person.
