In this homeschool update, I’m taking you along on our very first day back for the 2024/2025 school year—and yes, I’ve already made changes to what I thought we were doing. I share what our morning looked like, what I’m adjusting in our plans right out of the gate, and why I’m not afraid to pivot early if something doesn’t feel like it’s serving our days well. I also talk through how I’m thinking about our schedule so it’s actually sustainable (especially in those first-week rhythms when everyone’s a little rusty). I also share a couple of simple additions that are helping us ease into the year: a fun “morning menu/restaurant menu” idea to make the start of the day feel inviting, and a book pick that fits beautifully with a gentle, literature-rich approach—Great Rivers of the World.
