About This Video

In this homeschool year-end review, I’m sharing our 2024–2025 curriculum hits and misses for both of my kids—one in grade 1 and one in grade 5. I walk through what worked well, what didn’t, and why, so you can get a realistic picture of how these choices played out in our actual homeschool days (not just in theory). I also break things down by “family subjects” versus individual grade-level subjects, because I know a lot of us are trying to balance together time with independent work. I start with our family subjects—first the hits, then the misses—before moving into my grade 1 wins and then my grade 5 wins and misses. This is very much a “what I’d repeat” and “what I’d rethink” kind of video, especially if you’re planning next year and want to avoid buying something that looks great but doesn’t fit your home. And quick note: I forgot to mention Math-U-See for my 5th grader in the hits/misses section, but it was definitely a hit, and I’ll be sharing more about our math journey with it in an upcoming video.
