In today’s classroom setup day 3, I’m continuing my 2024 “project new classroom theme” and doing a whole lot of pondering and tidying in my third grade room. This part is very much the real-life side of classroom setup—moving things around, making decisions as I go, and trying to make the space feel calm, functional, and welcoming for my students. I’m balancing what looks cute with what actually works day-to-day, because I know once the school year starts, I need systems that are easy to maintain. I also share what’s been on my mind in this season as a teacher and a mom, and I bring you along as I work through the little details that make a classroom feel finished—like decor choices and the items I’m using to pull the theme together.
