In today’s teacher vlog, I’m bringing you along while I catch up on a major grading backlog—but I’m doing it during contract time, because I’m really trying to protect my time at home. I’m a third grade teacher in Maine and a mom to a toddler and baby boy, so when grading piles up, it can feel like there’s never a “perfect” time to tackle it. This video is just a realistic look at what it actually looks like when I sit down, focus, and work through the stack without taking it all home. I also share the mindset that helps me when I’m overwhelmed: pick a starting point, make a plan for what has to be graded versus what can be quickly checked, and just keep moving.
