About This Video

In this video I show you how I use Claude Code to build a professional-looking website without writing code by hand. I start with the basics (Node.js + VS Code), install Claude Code, and then tackle the biggest issue with AI-built sites: generic “AI slop” design. The fix is simple—I install the Frontend Design skill from Anthropic’s marketplace, feed Claude a few Dribbble references, and have it generate a proper design system (style guide, tokens, component specs) inside the repo. Then I create a dedicated sub-agent (“front end designer”) whose only job is to enforce that design system as we build. From there I set up a Next.js project (even if you already have files in the folder), switch into planning mode, and let Claude build a 3-page restaurant site (home, about, menu) using a CSV of menu items. After that, I solve a real production problem: image performance. I create my own custom Claude skill to download external stock images, resize them, convert them to WebP, store them locally, and update all references—so the site feels zippy. Finally, I push everything to GitHub, deploy to Vercel for free, and wire up an embedded AI assistant using n8n (self-hosted on a VPS) with OpenRouter—plus the foundation for lead capture and reservations via webhooks and a database.
