

Purchasing wood veneers can get expensive, but what's even harder is finding veneers, or even just very thin woods in any assortment of thicknesses like 1/8th 3/16th and even 1/4" (3mm, 4.5mm 6mm) and all of these are important sizes to anyone "cutting" wood with a laser etcher or laser cutter, and if you have a bandsaw, cutting thin pieces of wood seems easy, but it can be challenging, you need to consider bandsaw blades, blade sharpness and tooth offsets, who the thick the wood is you want to make, what species of wood (some are harder that others) and what sort of fence or jig you may need to accomplish this, the jig in this video is want that I made for a previous 16 inch bandsaw I sold many years ago, and decided to re-try this jig on my new 14" bandsaw to cut wider boards the "included" fence was not handling easily .. and here is that jig.
