Logic Pro 11.2 is here, and this update is packed with upgrades that genuinely level up your workflow. In this video I break down my favorite new features, starting with the upgraded Stem Splitter. You’ve now got more stem options (including guitar and piano), and you can even create submixes by simply unchecking what you don’t want split. If you’re remixing, or you’ve been sent a beat without individual stems and you just need to level things properly, this is one of those tools that can make your life easier. Then I get into Flashback Capture, and this is a big one. You can play MIDI ideas without hitting record, tap the Flashback button, and Logic brings back what you just played—no more “stage fright” when you hit record. Same thing with audio: you can capture vocals without recording in real time, which is amazing for artists warming up or freestyling. I also cover the new track search (a total godsend in big sessions), long mixer faders (yes please—especially if you’ve got bad eyes like me), the new output meter change that helps reduce the temptation to pull down your master fader, and a small but useful bounce/export wording update that keeps beginners in the right mindset about uncompressed vs MP3.
