Whether you like it or not, AI is here and it’s involved in music. In this video I’m testing Unison UniSynth (they sent it over for me to review), and I’m basically seeing if this whole “click a button and generate” workflow actually helps producers—or if it makes things a bit too easy. I walk through the UI (it’s resizable, looks clean), the genre selector (loads of options like trap, reggaeton, rock/metal, and even UK drill/UK grime), and the sound “type” options like 808s, bass, chords, leads, pads and plucks. The main thing I like is that big green AI generate button. If you’re stuck for ideas, you can hit it and it’ll spit out something you probably wouldn’t have chosen yourself—and sometimes random really works. I also show how deep it can get in Advanced mode: effects (delay, distortion, compressor/OTT, filters, modulation, reverbs), extra oscillators, and even sampling where you can drop in audio and choose the part you want to play. Then I build a quick UK drill-style idea in Logic, test glide/mono for 808s, and point out practical stuff like keeping an eye on gain staging because the synth can be loud (thankfully there’s a volume knob).
