In this video I’m showing you a simple, step-by-step way to record clean, clear, crispy vocals in Logic Pro—especially if you’re brand new. I start right from the beginning: creating a new audio track, understanding what you’re looking at (your audio channel and the inspector), and then making sure you’re actually getting signal into Logic the right way. I also break down the difference between dynamic vs condenser mics, and why phantom power (48V) matters—plus the big mistake to avoid: don’t switch phantom power on before you plug your mic in. From there, it’s all about the settings and workflow beginners usually miss. I walk you through buffer size so you don’t end up with latency, how to select the correct input on your channel, and how to set your recording level properly (I’m aiming around -12 to -6 dB so you’re not clipping). If your take comes in quiet, I show you a couple ways to add gain after the fact. Then I cover the real-world stuff that makes or breaks vocal recordings: mic distance, pop shield for plosives, avoiding proximity boom, recording multiple takes and comping, using closed-back headphones to avoid bleed, and controlling your room with basic treatment, a reflection filter, or even a duvet setup.
