I used my metal detector at the beach and here I show you a quick video on how to care for your detector if you use it in water, fresh or salt. I don't think I mentioned using a light detergent if you want. I just do a good wiping down with freshwater and either towel dry or air dry. Add your suggestions in the comments section. I used a DetectorPro Underwater. The main thing you want to do is give anything that goes in the ocean a freshwater bath, but make sure all electronics are airtight before plunging them under water, just like you would before you would go into the water to detect. This might be a common sense video, but I figure someone out there could use the help.
