In this video I’m basically stress-testing the idea of learning bass guitar from an online course—specifically BassBuzz—starting from my actual skill level and seeing if it can get me playing real parts that sound good. I walk through the bass rig I’m using (Fender Jazz Bass, SansAmp VT Bass DI, and a couple amps/cabs) and then I go module-by-module through the course so you can see what it’s like, how it’s structured, and what you’re actually practicing. I also do a few demos along the way so it’s not just me talking about it—you get to hear where I’m at and how things improve. I cover what I think matters most when you’re learning a new instrument online: whether the lessons are clear, whether the practice path makes sense, and whether you feel like you’re building usable skills instead of random tricks. I also show some real-world “quality of life” stuff—like using a Gruv Gear FretWrap, mounting the bass on a wall hanger, and swapping to flatwound strings—because that’s the kind of practical setup stuff that keeps you playing. By the end, I give my honest take on whether an online course can actually teach bass, and I do a final playthrough so you can judge the results for yourself.
