In this video, I’m telling the raw story behind my relationship with filmmaking—the rise, the fall, and the rebirth. It starts with where everything began for me as a kid, and how losing my grandma became a turning point that forced me to get serious about what I wanted to do with my life. I talk about the mindset shift that came from that loss, and how I stopped waiting around for “luck” and started creating opportunities on purpose. I break down how that mentality led to a huge early break: at 13, I went from being an unknown amateur to landing a summer internship with Beautiful Destinations in Dubai, getting mentored by co-founder Tom Jauncey. But I also share the part people don’t see—how chasing work and identity through filmmaking made me lose myself. No routine, no balance, no real sense of who I was outside the craft, and for two years I felt completely adrift. The turning point was stepping away to travel and see the world differently. When I came back, I rebuilt from the ground up: I fell back in love with creating, got my health and physique dialed, found real friendships, and started making films with purpose again. If there’s one takeaway, it’s this: focus on the right things, and the right things grow.
