Although most say this was by far the worst year ever, this was by far the most transformative year and a learning curve for me. I started to get into videography and video editing in March then that's where everything has taken off basically, Been so blessed with the opportunities I've been given this past year. Nevertheless, this has been a learning year for me and I'm excited to see what comes this year. Enjoy a recap of videos I've recorded and images I've captured throughout 2020. ______________________________________ Gear I use to make films: https://kit.co/PrestonChen All the music/sfx I use in every project I create (2 months free) https://artlist.io/artlist-70446/?artlist_aid=Preston_1428&utm_source=affiliate_p&utm_medium=Preston_1428&utm_campaign=Preston_1428 Stock footage I use when I forget clips (2 months free) https://artgrid.io/Artgrid-114820/?artlist_aid=Preston_1428&utm_source=affiliate_p&utm_medium=Preston_1428&utm_campaign=Preston_1428 ______________________________________ Special thanks to: @gregjoblove (https://www.instagram.com/gregjoblove/) @notthesohailninja (https://www.instagram.com/notthesohailninja/) @miday_i (https://www.instagram.com/miday_i/) @reme_martyr (https://www.instagram.com/reme_martyr/) @tomjauncey (https://www.instagram.com/tomjauncey/) @drewkocak (https://www.instagram.com/drewkocak/) Contact Me: preston100507@gmail.com Instagram: @itsprestonchen (https://www.instagram.com/itsprestonchen/) Thank you to everyone who sent in clips for the camera selfie concept! ______________________________________ Inspired by: Andrew James, Aidin Robbins, Mitchell Mullins, Beautiful Destinations, Sam Newton, James Matthew, and Matt Komo ______________________________________ cinematic travel film, travel film, cinematic film,cinematic,2020 film, aidin robbins, cinematic new york, new york city, adobe after effects, nyc travel film, travel video new york city,2020,my year 2020,my year, cinematic travel video, travel video,2020 recap,2020 cinematic, sam kolder inspired, motivation 2020,4k,vfx,3d,beautiful destinations, peter mckinnon, daniel schiffer, james matthews, sam kolder, kold, travel,Our year 2020,make art now, josh yeo,nyc

About This Video

2020 was the year that completely flipped my life upside down—in the best way. While a lot of people look back at it as the worst year ever, for me it was the most transformative year and a huge learning curve. I started getting into videography and video editing in March, and from that point everything basically took off. This video is my recap of the clips I recorded and the images I captured throughout the year, stitched together as a cinematic memory of what I was learning and what I was feeling. More than anything, this is a reminder that progress can happen fast when you commit. I’m genuinely grateful for the opportunities I was given, and I don’t take any of it lightly—because I was still figuring things out in real time: shooting more, editing more, and learning how to tell better stories with pacing, music, and emotion. If you’re in that stage where you’re just starting, my biggest takeaway is to keep creating and let the work stack up. I’m excited to see what comes next, but this one is about appreciating the climb.
