This video is basically a whirlwind NYC weekend where I put the Zhiyun Crane 2S through a real-world run-and-gun test with my buddy Greg Joblove. We’re bouncing around the city grabbing cinematic moments, and the whole goal is simple: can this gimbal keep up with a fast pace and still give me that smooth, polished “film look” without fighting the rig the entire time? For the past year I’ve been shooting mostly handheld, and getting truly smooth footage has been a struggle—especially when you’re moving fast and trying to keep things feeling intentional. The Crane 2S completely changed my workflow. It’s a beast: crazy power, a super dope design, and it honestly lands in my top 3 gimbals ever made—maybe even my favorite gimbal of 2020 (and potentially all time). I also talk through other Zhiyun options like the WEEBIL-S and Crane 3S depending on your setup, plus little rigging pieces like quick release plates that make swapping and balancing way less painful. I put 100+ hours into the edit, and this one’s all about what we captured—and why this gimbal made it possible.
