In today’s digital world, AI chatbots are everywhere, but the big problem is privacy—most tools push your prompts and data to the cloud. In this video, I show you how I run a powerful AI chatbot locally on my Windows PC so there’s no data tracking, no leaks, and I stay in full control. If you want something like ChatGPT, but offline and private, this setup is for you. I start by installing Ollama on Windows (super simple—just download and click install). Then I install Docker Desktop so I can run everything cleanly in containers. After that, I launch Open WebUI in Docker, and because I have an NVIDIA GPU, I use the GPU-supported Docker command for better performance. Once the web UI is up, I create an admin account, download an LLM that fits my hardware (I use Google Gemma 3 with 12B parameters), and start chatting locally. I also show how to add users and groups for team access on a local network, and where to explore advanced settings like APIs and authentication.
