In this video, I explain how a CPU works in the simplest way possible—because once you understand this chip, a lot of “computer magic” starts making sense. I break the CPU down as the brain of your computer: it takes input from memory/storage, processes it, and sends output to your screen, speakers, or printer. I also walk through what happens when you open something simple like a calculator—your system loads code into memory, and then the CPU reads instructions one by one to produce the result. Then I go inside the CPU and show what’s really happening: billions of transistors acting like tiny on/off switches that represent 1s and 0s. Those switches form logic gates, and logic gates combine into the circuits that run full programs. I also cover the fetch-decode-execute cycle, the role of the ALU, and why electricity flowing through silicon is the real engine behind everything—videos, games, websites, all of it. Finally, I explain why modern CPUs feel fast (cores, cache/pipelines at a high level) and wrap it up with a simple chef/kitchen analogy so you can remember it easily.
