In this ride, I take my 2025 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT out on one of my absolute favorite loops back home—around Hayden Lake, just north of Coeur d’Alene. It’s a twisty lake road with those classic North Idaho lake views and forest stretches, and honestly it’s the perfect place to see what this bike feels like when the corners keep coming. Nolan’s with me too, so it’s a laid-back father-son Sunday ride where I mostly shut up and let you enjoy the road. About halfway (after I realize I forgot my glove… twice), I break down what I’m learning after hitting about 600 miles—mostly commuting plus filming. The big takeaway: Sport Mode is where the Rebel 1100 DCT really shines on this kind of road. Standard Mode can feel like it’s chasing economy and it’s a little weird if you’re used to a manual, but in Sport the DCT reacts way more like you’d expect, the bike feels light, flickable, and the power delivery is just right. By the end, this is hands-down the most I’ve enjoyed this particular road on any motorcycle I’ve ridden.
