About This Video

We finally scored 24 kid-free hours for our anniversary, so Cassie and I did what we always wish we had more time for—motorcycle time. We hopped on our Honda Rebel 1100 DCT, headed into Hayden, Idaho, and kicked the day off with lunch at The Porch (one of our favorite spots by the golf course). The whole vibe of this ride is exactly what we needed: good food, good conversation, and a break from everyday life. After lunch, we rode the entirety of Hayden Lake—twisty, scenic, and honestly one of my favorite “date night” style routes around here. We pointed out a few local landmarks like the Clark mansion overlooking the lake (yep, the one people say is haunted), watched for deer in town, and talked through real-world riding stuff like surprise-tight corners and gravel that can catch you if you’re not paying attention. Biggest takeaway for a lot of you: Cassie finally got real seat time as a passenger on the Rebel 1100, and she gave the passenger setup a solid thumbs up—comfortable, secure, and that backrest helps a ton when I roll on the throttle.
