I’ve been daily-driving OPPO’s latest flagships, the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, and I genuinely underestimated how much I’d enjoy them—especially the X9 Pro. In this review I focus on real-world use (not just spec sheets): how the phones feel day to day, what I loved, what annoyed me, and how they stack up against other flagships I’ve used. The biggest surprise for me was ColorOS 16: it’s faster, way more customizable, and packed with genuinely useful quality-of-life upgrades like a fixed widgets panel, a better one-handed app drawer search, and one of the best-looking lock screens on Android right now. Performance is smooth and stable with the Dimensity 9500, great thermals, and a faster 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner (even with wet/oily fingers). The design is more minimal this year with a smaller camera module (no more index finger on the lenses), plus extra hardware buttons like the remappable Snap Key and the Pro’s camera-focused Quick Button. The displays are ridiculously comfortable—super thin bezels, high brightness, and the ability to dim down to 1 nit with very high PWM dimming. Cameras are a big win, especially the X9 Pro’s 200MP 3x telephoto that stays sharp up to around 12x and doubles as a macro lens. Add insane battery life (7,250–7,500mAh), fast 80W charging, and strong value pricing, and the X9 series ends up being an easy recommendation if you want a phone that’ll last without going overboard on price.
