About This Video

I spent a few weeks using the OnePlus 15, and I’ve basically landed on three big wins and three real downsides. The best part by far is performance. It’s running Snapdragon’s newest chipset that only a handful of phones even have right now, and everything felt ridiculously fast and smooth. You’re also getting faster RAM, faster storage, better touch response, and even a 165Hz bump for certain games—so if you want a straight-up powerhouse, this is that phone. Battery life is the second highlight, because 7,300mAh is just wild. I’m easily getting a day and a half, sometimes more, even with heavy use—and somehow it’s still thinner than its predecessor and thinner than a lot of other phones out there. Third, OxygenOS 16 surprised me in a good way: the lock screen overhaul is genuinely nice, expandable icons with shortcuts are super handy, and I like the AI inside the Settings search bar for finding stuff quicker. But yeah, it’s not perfect. The cameras are the weak link with off colors, overexposure, and noisy night shots. The update policy (4 years OS, 6 years security) feels behind Samsung and Google’s 7-year promise. And then there are the little OxygenOS annoyances—like the volume slider taking over the screen and no undo if you delete an app/widget. At $900, if you don’t care about cameras, it’s one of the best performance-per-dollar phones you can buy right now.
