About This Video

Hey friends—today I’m refreshing my living room for winter without buying a single thing. I really challenged myself this January to use what I already have in my possession, and I was honestly surprised by how peaceful it felt. No shopping, no trends—just pulling pieces I love back out, thinking a little more creatively, and letting the room feel calm, familiar, and lived-in. I start by bringing back a lot of what I used at Christmas: my little wintry tree (it looks just like what I’m seeing in my backyard right now), candlesticks, a dough bowl, and a brass orb to give the mantel more presence. I style the TV console (not my favorite piece, but not a priority right now) with baskets that don’t perfectly match but do work in color and texture, plus a black pot with greenery and black candlesticks for balance. Around the room I add simple winter touches—pine cones, greenery stems, and cozy textures like pillows and blankets. One of my favorite moments is using a treasured blanket from my skating days (not the “perfect” color, but I make it work), and I love how all the wicker, black accents, and warm neutrals end up flowing together in a really unexpected way.
