In this spring living room refresh, I’m transitioning my space out of winter and into something fresh, light, and airy—without it feeling cluttered. I start a little differently by styling my hallway table first, because that big blank wall has been bugging me. I haven’t found artwork I truly love yet, so I tried an “out of the box” moment: a large rattan/wicker vessel filled with lush greenery and spring stems to create a statement and visually fill the space. Because the top is so busy, I keep the lower shelf neutral and minimal with a few prints I’ve had for years. From there I move to the fireplace mantle, which always sets the tone for the season in this room. Since my mantle isn’t very deep (and the mirror frame intrudes a bit), I stick with pieces that feel safe and practical—like my wicker dough bowl—then simply add greenery to freshen it up. Around the room, I keep things intentional and minimal (especially near the TV and sound bar), lighten up the darker winter look with creams and whites, and add cozy touches like candles, a sweet bunny moment, and layered textures. One of my favorite parts is creating a floral centerpiece for the coffee table—those viral peony stems really are gorgeous—and layering it on a wicker charger and tray to elevate the whole look. I finish with soft elements like pillows and blankets, keeping what already works, and bringing in gentle peach and yellow for a joyful spring feel.
