Smart Watering with the Elecrow GrowCube!

From time to time I like checking out various smart home devices on this channel. I decided to take a look at the Elecrow GrowCube when they offered to send me one since it claimed it has Home Assistant support. Since I love integrating "all the things" into Home Assistant, that is the biggest selling point for any smart home devices I'm considering to use. The GrowCube can monitor and water up to 4 different plants. However, you can branch off one hose to water 2 plants that have the same watering cycle if you need to water more than 4 plants. There are some "T" and "Y" fittings that come with the accessories so you can make use of those. You can connect to the GrowCube through a mobile app via Bluetooth or WiFi. I did encounter one issue with the GrowCube -- the iOS app would not connect to the GrowCube to set up the WiFi connection. Fortunately Elecrow was able to fix the app (the app did not support iOS 18 when I first tried it out). If you plan to use the GrowCube with Home Assistant, you need to use the mobile app to configure the WiFi connection but once it's on WiFi you technically do not need the app anymore. The GrowCube only supports a single connection to the device so you have to temporarily disable the Home Assistant integration if you wish to connect again with the app (if you wish to change the WiFi connection, etc). Also worth noting is the Home Assistant integration is a community integration and not supported directly by Elecrow, but it does work really well.
