About This Video

On this beautiful rare snow day at home, I decided to lean into a cozy reset and finally tackle a few hidden, unorganized spaces I’d been procrastinating on—my kitchen pantry, my laundry/utility room, and a quick linen closet refresh. I’m sharing 8 simple secrets that help me keep things organized long-term, without turning my home into a “perfect” showroom. The goal is a calm, functional home that actually works for our everyday routines. In the pantry, I focused on the lower section where clutter loves to collect. One of my biggest tips is to let your space set limits—every shelf, bin, and drawer has a natural capacity, and overflowing usually means we need to declutter, reorganize, or do a little decanting. I also like to keep bulky Costco overstock (snacks, oils, flours) down on the pantry floor in large baskets so the main shelves stay clear and easy to maintain. In the laundry room, I stopped fighting my natural habits and built simple systems around them—like adding hooks where my purse and grocery bags always end up anyway. I also used behind-the-door peel-and-stick holders for everyday cleaning supplies, shared my love for macro organizing (yes, I keep a “this and that” bin), and reused what I already had—like a Costco wooden crate. My final reminder is to maintain as you go: a quick 5-minute reset each week keeps these spaces from becoming overwhelming.
