Made it to Tokyo—Episode 1 of my Japan vlog starts with the classic “we just landed” chaos: currency exchange at a cafe, waiting for the rest of the crew to pull up from LA, and immediately learning that Japan is basically a 7/11 paradise (first of many). I introduce the new “characters” in my video journal, then we hit Shinjuku and Omoide Yokocho where everything is a tight squeeze, everyone’s doing their own little side quests, and we all reunite over food. We grab yakatori skewers (a little expensive, but worth for day one), chase a Godzilla head, and end the night with the group vibe fully activated—tired, but having the time of our lives. Day 2 kicks off at the fish market where I’m reminded I don’t love lines… but I’m in Japan, so we do it anyway. We try sweets and coffee (shoutout cinnamon buns and black sesame), then slide into more Tokyo nights. Day 3 is the cinematic one: TeamLab Borderless into Asakusa—crowded like a summer festival, but not as hot—then Asakusa Temple, Tokyo Skytree, and finishing strong with omakase. This whole episode is me documenting memories in real time: friends, food, and those little moments that make a trip feel unreal.
