About This Video

In this video, I’m breaking down what a Program Manager actually is and what my life looks like in the role—because I know a lot of you are trying to figure out if PM is the right path. I frame it as “a project manager on steroids,” and I walk through what a “program” means using simple examples (like a fitness program) so it’s easier to visualize: one big long-term goal made up of multiple smaller projects that all have to land. I also cover the core responsibilities that show up at pretty much every level: designing and planning the program, managing it day-to-day, building KPIs to prove it’s working, handling budget/finances (more senior), doing risk management, collaborating cross-functionally, and—most importantly—communication. Then I explain the differences between project, program, and product managers, including how their scope changes and why product managers usually get paid the most. Finally, I share my personal role in tech partnerships: I run a startup accelerator program inside a big company, helping with sourcing, a five-month program structure, technical integration, and then business development / go-to-market. I talk work-life balance (global team meetings can start early), how I try to protect a 9–5, and why this role has been a stepping stone as I transition more into my creative journey.
