In this video I’m sharing a really special “not a true unboxing” of my Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra Necklace in 18K yellow gold with white Mother of Pearl. My parents gifted this to me on my wedding day, and it’s been on my wish list for years, so it honestly means so much to finally have it in my collection. Of course, I also go deep into the whole VCA online ordering experience—because you guys know I’m obsessed with luxury packaging and presentation. I walk you through everything that came with it: the big outer box, the white folder with documentation (authenticity card, care booklet, receipt), and the huge polishing cloth. Then we get into the actual jewellery box and the necklace itself—how dainty it is, how the pendant is the same size as the Sweet Alhambra bracelet pendant (which surprised me), and why the chain is genuinely one of the most beautiful chains I’ve ever seen—it literally glistens like liquid gold. I also share my real thoughts on sizing and comfort: I had the chain extended by 3cm because the original length sat too high on my collarbone and felt uncomfortable for me. I talk through whether 3cm is enough, the 5cm option, and some care tips for Mother of Pearl (no shower, take it off for bed) because it’s a natural stone and you do need to be careful with it over time.
