In this video I’m sharing all the reasons why I stopped wearing my Cartier Slim (Small) Love Bracelet — and no, it’s not because I’m “over it” or because I’m selling it. I still absolutely love it and I still think it’s a classic piece, but it’s been sitting in its jewellery box for about five to six months because my style has shifted. Lately I’ve been gravitating so much more towards daintier, finer chains that catch the light subtly, and I find the Love Bracelet (even the slim version) is still quite eye-catching and can overpower my stacks. I show you how I’ve been wearing my Sarah & Sebastian birthstone bracelet and my Ana Luisa paperclip-style bracelet nonstop, and sometimes I’ll add my Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra. When I add the Love Bracelet in, the delicate chains can kind of get lost next to it. I also talk about practicality: the slim version has the hinge mechanism, and in my experience it’s been really secure — the little clicking sound is normal (Cartier confirmed this for me), and I’ve never had issues with the screw coming loose. Finally, I touch on lifestyle: I don’t love drawing attention to luxury pieces at work, and I also want to give my Love Bracelet a break after wearing it nonstop for three years (scratches and all). For me, it’s a lifetime piece — I have my whole life to enjoy it again.
