Yes, there’s a ban list out there and Nigeria is on it, but people keep mixing up what it actually impacts. If you’re a U.S. citizen and you’re traveling from the U.S. into Nigeria for 2026—your flight, your trip, your wedding plans, meeting your fiancé/boyfriend for the first time—you can still do that. This ban is not about stopping U.S. citizens from entering Nigeria. Where it does hit hard is the USCIS process for Nigerians trying to enter the United States—especially people who are currently in the process and haven’t received approval yet. From what I’m seeing, that part has been completely stopped and we don’t know when it’ll be unpaused. I also explain that if someone already has a current visa or already has a green card, they can travel back into the U.S. My goal here is to calm the panic, give you real clarity, and help you plan smart—because I live in Nigeria and I’m here for y’all.
