This video is my serious warning to anybody planning to visit Nigeria and thinking, “I don’t need vaccines” or “I’ll just get malaria meds when I land.” I used to talk like that too—because I’ve traveled to Nigeria multiple times and thought a few mosquito bites wouldn’t be a big deal. But I’m telling you from real experience: do not play with malaria prevention. Take getting your vaccines and malaria medication very serious, especially yellow fever and your malaria meds before you travel. I have a video on my page where I’m literally in the hospital with oxygen in my nose because I could barely breathe. My eyes were red, and that parasite from a mosquito bite almost took my life. I ended up in the ICU fighting for my life because I didn’t take my malaria medication before traveling and I didn’t take it serious. The parasite traveled to my brain and my spine and was ready to cut my life short. I’m always encouraging y’all to visit Nigeria, but health is wealth—plan accordingly and protect yourself first.
