So if you’re choosing this kind of relationship, you need to be real with yourself about what it takes—tickets, repeated trips, sometimes sending money, and possibly supporting your spouse for a while. If you already know you’re going to resent it, keep throwing it in their face, or stress yourself out nonstop, let it go. It’s not by force.
