In this January 2025 GEG Ohio meeting, I walk through a bunch of timely updates and practical ideas that educators can actually use right away. I start with welcome items, important links, and upcoming events, and then we dig into what’s new across Google Workspace and beyond. If you like staying ahead of changes (without having to hunt them down yourself), this session is basically a curated tour with educator-focused context. From there I cover updates like more granular control over who can respond to Google Forms, and new Google Docs templates to help you build modern documents faster. We also talk about several big AI and media announcements, including YouTube auto dubbing, Gemini 2.0 and Deep Research, NotebookLM’s refresh and premium tier, and new creative tools like Whisk plus Veo 2 and Imagen 3 for video and image generation. On the classroom side, I highlight Gemini-powered ideas like generating vocabulary lists in Google Classroom, plus workflow upgrades like “grade all,” phonics-based insights for decodable books, and Chromebook management updates (including customizing the Chrome Web Store).
