About This Video

In this GEG Ohio April 2025 meeting, I walk through a packed set of updates and practical ideas for educators who want to use Google tools and AI in ways that actually fit the classroom. I start with key links and upcoming events, then we dig into what’s new across Google Workspace and Google Classroom—especially the AI-related changes that are rolling out fast. Along the way I highlight new Google Arts & Culture AI experiments, the World Wide Wood project, and the growing list of AI tools showing up in Docs, Sheets, Chat, and more. I also cover workflow improvements like the new Slides sidebar for design elements, plus multiple Classroom updates: uploading content to Read Along, silent reading mode, using Gemini in Classroom to generate questions/quizzes from text, bulk grading labels, and expanded student group capabilities. We also talk about NotebookLM updates (including sources and NotebookLM Plus), and the big news that NotebookLM and the Gemini app are now Core Services for education with enterprise-grade protections. To wrap up, we do show-and-tell (including my “Door A, B, or C?” choose-your-own-adventure idea), share librarian-focused AI resources, and look at tools like the “AI Trust You” Docs add-on—then finish with Q&A and next steps using the linked agenda.
