In this video I’m sharing my top summer fragrances—aka the ones that actually smell amazing in hot weather and don’t turn weird once you’re walking around NYC (because some scents + sweat is… not it). I’m not getting super deep into notes, but I do tell you exactly what each one smells like to me, how it wears in the heat, and whether it projects or disappears on you. A big theme here is finding scents that stay crisp, clean, and “put together” even when it’s humid. I start with Byredo Pulp, which is straight-up citrus overload in the best way—fresh squeezed orange juice, limes, powdered sugar, tart and tangy, and it cuts through body odor really well. Then I talk about Ellis Brooklyn Miami Nectar, which is literally summer in a bottle: pineapple piña colada vibes, creamy coconut water, and it somehow smells even better when you’re hot (I’ve worn it to the gym). I also include a more affordable, super girly “princess perfume” option (Le Monde Gourmand Angel Soirée), a nostalgic honeysuckle-vanilla date-night scent from Kayali, and two Prada picks—one that’s a unique crisp ginger tea moment and one that’s a clean, pretty floral. And of course, I finish with the chic, no-brainer Byredo Bal d’Afrique that just works year-round but especially in summer.
