In this video, I’m basically doing a UC Berkeley housing tour—both ends of the spectrum. Quick disclaimer though: I filmed the newest/nicest dorm at Cal (Blackwell) and my own apartment, because those were the two spots I was actually comfortable filming in and had permission to film. Berkeley housing varies a lot, so don’t take this as “every dorm/apartment looks like this,” because it definitely doesn’t. First, I walk through my friend’s setup in Blackwell and show what a typical room situation looks like. She has a single, but most rooms are doubles—so just imagine the same space with one more bed instead of the couch area. You get your own desk setup, plus a microwave and fridge in the room, and a closet. I also show the recycling and trash chutes (you literally just wave to open them), and yeah—make sure you recycle. Then I switch over to my apartment and show my desk/WFH corner: gaming chair, desk, laptop + monitor, and all my charging stuff.
