In this video I put the Nothing Phone 4a Pro on the bench and the results are honestly wild—in the worst way. I’m sitting right next to a Wi‑Fi 7 router, and my other devices (like my S26 Ultra) are pulling ridiculous speeds—almost 2Gbps down and 1.5Gbps up on Wi‑Fi. Then I run the same kind of test on the Nothing Phone 4a Pro and I’m seeing stuff like 13Mbps download and 51Mbps upload. Signal strength shows “excellent,” but the performance is straight-up laughable. The bigger problem isn’t even just that it’s limited to Wi‑Fi 6 (no 6E, no 7) with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 modem—it’s the inconsistency. My speed tests are all over the place: slow, fast, slow, fast, and I never know what I’m going to get on Wi‑Fi or on 5G. For a phone that cost me $599 (about $667 after taxes), that kind of network instability is incomprehensible and, for me, it’s a deal breaker. I wanted this to be my main SIM phone, but if I can’t trust the network, I can’t justify keeping it—so I reached out to Nothing about a replacement, and if that doesn’t happen, it’s getting returned.
