In this video I’m talking about something that is basically guaranteed to happen in a real homeschool: your kids will not finish the school year at the same time. Those “everyone ends on the same day” seasons are long gone for me, and honestly, it’s not really that big of a deal once you stop trying to force it. I share how I handle it in my own house so the kids who are still working don’t lose momentum just because a sibling is “done.” My biggest takeaway is that the goal isn’t keeping everyone synced—it’s keeping everyone on track. When one child finishes early, I’m intentional about what that looks like day-to-day so it doesn’t turn into distraction for the others. I also talk through simple ways to keep the remaining kids moving forward while still letting the early finisher enjoy that accomplishment.
