In this video, I’m talking about something I don’t think we say out loud enough in the homeschool world: there is a tradeoff. Homeschooling and public school both come with things you gain and things you give up, and I think our kids deserve an honest answer when they ask, “Am I missing out?” I share how I approach that conversation without sugar-coating it or pretending the two options are identical. From my perspective as a stay-at-home mom homeschooling my crew, the goal isn’t to “win” the homeschool vs public school debate—it’s to be clear-eyed about what your family is choosing and why. I explain how I frame the pros and cons in a way that validates what my kids might feel, while still standing confident in our decision. My biggest takeaway: you can acknowledge the tradeoffs and still be fully at peace with your choice, because every path has a cost and a benefit—you’re just picking which set fits your family best.
