In this video I’m sharing my 2024–2025 1st grade curriculum picks—what I’m planning to use and how I’m thinking about putting the year together. As a stay-at-home mom of 8, I’m always balancing what works on paper with what actually works in real life, so this is very much a “here’s the plan going into the year” kind of lineup. If you’re building your own 1st grade year and want a starting point, this is where I’m at right now. I walk through the subjects I’m covering for 1st grade and the general approach I take when choosing resources: keeping things doable, keeping momentum, and choosing materials that support consistency (because homeschool days don’t happen in a vacuum in a big family). I also invite you to ask questions—because curriculum decisions are so personal, and sometimes the best help is talking through your kid’s needs, your schedule, and what you realistically can manage.
