In this video I tested the OTD electric bike to see if a $500-ish Amazon e-bike is actually worth buying. I break everything down into four parts: the unboxing, the build process step-by-step, a full features rundown, and then a real test ride where I push the bike on both gravel and pavement. I also call out what you get in the box (phone holder, reflectors, pedals, headlight, tools, and the 54.6V 2A charger) so you know what to expect before you order. For the ride test, I focused on handling, speed at each pedal assist level, and braking performance. On gravel it’s definitely a bit bumpy in the back since there’s no rear suspension, but the front suspension does a decent job taking the edge off. On pavement it’s super smooth and feels like the bike’s ideal environment. Speed-wise, I capped pedal assist around 12–13 mph (level 1), 15–16 (level 2), 20 (level 3), 24 (level 4), and about 25–26 mph at level 5—so I couldn’t quite hit the claimed 28 mph. The mechanical disc brakes stopped me from ~15 mph in about 16 feet, and overall I can recommend it if you want a fast, fun budget e-bike with a big removable battery.
