In part two of my Shanghai vlog, the pace shifts from “tourist mode” to what Shanghai really feels like when you’re living here—everyday moments, small routines, and little memories that end up meaning the most. I’m a toddler mom (my little one is 2.5), so a lot of our days naturally revolve around playgrounds. I took you with me to an indoor play place called Meland, and honestly it’s one of the best we’ve ever been to. I loved how it blends pretend play with big gross-motor climbing and sliding, and the space felt open, clean, and kind of magical—my only real downside was the price (and no, I didn’t sign up for the membership). We also did slower city walks along Suzhou Creek toward Rockbund and the Bund, where you can really feel old Shanghai and modern Shanghai sitting right next to each other. I crossed over to Pudong for Lujiazui, tried a chocolate dessert called Choco Lava, and visited the Duoyun Bookstore in Shanghai Tower—nice, but a bit underwhelming and not a must-see unless you specifically want the bookstore + observation-deck combo. I ended the vlog with North Bund waterfront vibes, plus a very real-life moment: a wisdom tooth removal that took 12 minutes from check-in to walking out. Shanghai is home to me, and the longer you stay, the more you realize you’ll never fully “finish” seeing it.
