Curtin University has secured more than $94 million in funding to lead its first Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence. The ARC Centre of Excellence for Quality Work in a Digital Age (QWiDA) will drive world-leading research over the next seven years to make work better in an increasingly digital future. Led by Curtin’s Centre for Transformative Work Design Director, 2024 WA Scientist of the Year and ARC Laureate Fellow John Curtin Distinguished Professor Sharon Parker, the Centre aims to bring together researchers, industry and government partners from across the world to revolutionise how Australia approaches the design and use of digital technologies. Curtin Vice-Chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne said the Centre reflects Curtin’s global leadership in future-of-work research and will help shape fair, healthy and productive workplaces in Australia and beyond.
