Slow Spring Days in Italy | Cooking in Italian way, Gardening & Cozy Living at Home In today’s video, I share a glimpse of spring life at our mountain house, including gardening, seasonal cooking, and simple living in Milan. Join me as I prepare seafood pasta and filet steak with green pepper sauce, served with monk’s beard (agretti), and create a few fresh floral arrangements. My name is Cory, and I live on the outskirts of Milan in a 100-year-old renovated house. I work as a creative producer in advertising and I write screenplays. About This Video

In this video I’m spending slow spring days between Milan and our mountain house—where it’s still a bit too cold to stay overnight, but even a single day up there fills me with this deep sense of well-being. I sip coffee in the quiet, watch the snow melt across the peaks, and wander the garden noticing what’s blooming: primroses, dog’s-tooth violets, and newly opened narcissus (and yes… I only just realized we have a forsythia—did you spot it before I did?). I’m dreaming big about turning this place into a little Garden of Eden, even while I’m still figuring out work after losing my job of 15 years. Back at home, I’m in my element with simple, instinctive cooking and cozy routines. I refresh fading narcissus with a few tulips, joke that maybe I should become a florist, and admit I still have a lot to learn in the garden (this year I’m trying thyme and sage again). I also deal with aphids on my roses using a gentle Marseille soap solution, then cook a light dinner: monk’s beard (agretti) sautéed with garlic and oil—like spinach with a hint of lemon—paired with fillet steak and a green pepper sauce finished with cream, mustard, and a little broth. Bon appétit, and Happy Easter if you celebrate.
