This video is a cozy, honest reset—one of those winter days where I try to slow everything down, even when life is doing the opposite. After some very cold holidays, I take you with me to Horgen, Switzerland, where part of my family lives, and in the stillness of frozen mornings I reflect on the past year: a profound loss, a painful estrangement, and some troubling health issues. But I also hold tight to the blessings—our mountain home above Lake Iseo, the beautiful collaborations on YouTube (yes, I know not everyone loves them), and the fact that after five years of research and writing I finally published my first book. While I’m setting intentions for the new year—mostly better health and the hope to meet many of you on tour—I share a big life change: the company I devoted 15 years to decided to take a different path and leave me behind. It arrived at an unkind moment, and it hurt, but it also brought an unexpected relief: more time to create, and more “happy time” for YouTube. To calm my mind, I bake homemade bread (folding it is pure stress relief), do a gentle New Year reset at home, and cook a simple Venetian-style liver dish with onion, bay leaf, and white wine—because sometimes comfort is as simple as crusty bread and a warm plate on a grey day.
