Last time, I left you in suspense on that bumpy little road to my “secret project”… and in this video I finally reveal it: we bought a house up in the mountains. It’s in a very quiet village about an hour from Milan, 15 minutes from Lake Iseo, and 10 minutes from the vineyards of Franciacorta—close enough to escape the city, but not so far that it feels impossible. For me, this really is an investment in mental and physical health, because after years of working and letting stress slowly take its toll, my heart just longs to spend more time outdoors. I take you through the rooms and share what we’re keeping (there are some vintage, traditional pieces I genuinely like) and what needs work—because yes, we’re “living happily poorer ever after.” There’s no central heating and the house is very cold (which I deeply dislike, haha), so we’re figuring out solutions like the cast-iron stove, even if the pipe situation is… temporarily “bandaged.” I also share a little slow-living moment in the kitchen: a rich, warm stew simmering in a terracotta pan—pure comfort, and a reminder of the countryside part of my childhood. And of course, I’m already dreaming about transforming the mountain garden next.
