About This Video

January in Italy can feel so cold and dark, so in this cozy winter vlog I lean into the small rituals that keep me grounded—quiet walks with Arly, a bit of foraged greenery for the house, and lots of cooking. As usual, I’m always looking for something simple to decorate with, even when “there isn’t much around” this time of year. I bring home some pretty vines that last a long time in a vase without water (free décor is still my favorite), and I save bay leaves to use later in the kitchen. From there, it’s all about warming food and slow moments at home. I make a mushroom risotto (with red onion because I realized too late I had no shallots), finishing it the only way: butter and Parmesan. I also share my everyday tea routine—my partner brought me a black tea box from China, but I still reach for my comfortable blue teapot because I like to drink tea, not just taste it. Later I bake an Italian jam tart with quince jam, prep easy feta quiches, and slow-cook ribs with garlic, rosemary, and white wine. In between, I share a little life update and a mindful-shopping dilemma about two discounted bags—because slow living also means choosing with honesty and care.
