In a separate bowl, temper the egg yolks by slowly adding a bit of the warm cream mixture while whisking constantly. Gradually whisk the yolks into the cream mixture and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat, add vanilla and salt, and whisk until combined. Strain the custard base, then stir in the strawberries. You can blend the mixture if you prefer a smoother texture or leave some strawberry chunks for added texture. Refrigerate overnight or until fully chilled.
