About This Video

In this video I’m basically showing you why I’ve been quiet for a week: I’ve been ripping my converted garage office apart and rebuilding it so I can actually keep up with repairs and YouTube properly. This space used to be completely rammed—there were big shelves taking up the back and my motorbike stored in there, so I had barely any room to work. On top of that, it’s a single-brick garage, so damp was a real issue until we lined the walls with epoxy paint (expensive, but it genuinely worked). After a chat with my brother, I finally committed to dividing the office into proper sections for the different jobs I do—PCs, laptops, phones/tablets, and the occasional microsoldering work where I used to have to drag every bit of kit out and then pack it all away again. The goal is simple: be more efficient and have a permanent filming setup at the back so recording repairs is faster and more consistent. I also talk about downsizing my homelab gear (a lot of servers and a rack are going up for sale) and why I opened an eBay shop—so I can move on surplus kit, refurb broken items, give them a second life, and fund the business in a sensible way.
