About This Video

In this video I’m giving you a heads-up that the Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023) has a brand-new update sitting on the Lenovo mirrors—and it’s not the small bug-fix build I expected. It’s a full Android 15 build: ZUI 17 (245 stable) for the ā€œrest of the worldā€ ROM. I check the Lenovo mirrors every week (sometimes every few days), spotted the new version, and then immediately searched it on XDA to see what other users were finding before I went any further. I also explain why some of you might not see this update through the normal System Update page, even if you’ve previously received OTA updates. In my case it simply wasn’t offered, so the only option was to manually install the OTA ZIP (rename it to OTAA.zip) and push it over to the tablet—my preferred method is downloading on PC and sending it across with LocalSend. Before attempting the update again, I factory reset to give it the best chance, because my first attempts were failing. Most importantly: I share the early warnings from XDA. Some users report touch input freezing/stuttering in games (especially COD Mobile and GeForce Now), and there are also reports of streaming app issues (YouTube/Disney+) that may be tied to Dolby/Atmos settings. I’m posting this now so you can research and decide whether to wait for my follow-up once I’ve fully tested it.
